Coloured volkstaat
It seems like the idea of a volkstaat has widespread appeal. The following is from a letter written to The Dispatch:
I want to say to our coloured community: stand up and let us build our own volkstaat, but first we need leaders who are reliable in the coloured community. We are the only nation in the world that does not have its own rights. In the past, the white minority rule oppressed us; now it is the black majority rule under the ANC government. In the past we were not white enough to qualify for top positions; now we are not black enough to qualify, due to affirmative action. All coloureds must stand together and build our own political party. My coloured brothers and sisters, there will be never a coloured president in this country, but if we work very hard to recruit people we will win the Northern and Western Cape provinces because the coloureds are the majority there. So if there are coloureds who are politically minded, let them come forward and start to work on this problem because we want to contest the 2004 elections, and also fight for the rights of our people. My brothers and sisters, don't vote at the local government elections, but let us try to arrange a public meeting as soon as possible to discuss this issue. Our party now must be the South African Coloured Congress.

What about a Afrikaans Volkstaat for all Afrikaans speaking people in the Northern Cape. The majority of people there speak Afrikaans anyway. So what about an Afrikaans Speaking Volkstaat for all Afrikaans Speakers ?.
