Volkstaat

Volkstaat (Afrikaans for "People's state") is a proposal for the establishment of a homeland for Afrikaners. Outside a possible use of force, the South African Constitution and International Legislation present certain possibilities for the establishment of such a state. The South African regime declared that they would not support a Volkstaat, but "would do everything they could to ensure the protection of the Afrikaner language and culture". What a fine job they are doing.

Constand Viljoen to leave SA parliament

The leader of a white minority party devoted to promoting Afrikaner values and aspirations in South Africa says he's retiring from parliament.

General Constand Viljoen told the national assembly in Cape Town that he had grown frustrated with working as a minority leader in a parliament dominated by the governing African National Congress.

Mr Viljoen, who campaigned for an Afrikaner homeland to be created in South Africa, said he hoped his party, the Freedom Front, would continue as a constructive opposition group.
